8th Grade Washington DC Trip
For many years Yeshiva Derech HaTorah’s 8th grade has made Washington DC the destination for their Graduation Trip. However it has always been abundantly clear that where we go is not nearly as important as who we go with. The places we visit is only a vehicle to cementing our bonds that been cultivated in the many years passed through elementary school. Joined by Rabbi Chanales and Rabbi Rosenblatt, the class visits all of the sites and more.
It begins in Baltimore at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team and ends with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. For 2 days and one night we visit places such as the Capitol, The Smithsonian The Lincoln and Washington monuments as well as other interesting and fun places. Of course we spend a great deal of time touring the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum led by our tour guide Mrs. Shiela Schwebel. This trip is the perfect blend of fun and education as this is and always has been a trip they will never forget. The bonds forged with Rebbeim and students alike last forever
Each year the students design and purchase their own unique graduate sweatshirts and wear them on the trip. A picture of the class is taken in front of the White House and hung in Rabbi Chanales’ office as a memento of the trip and a testimony the YDH has the best students anywhere.
