RABBI E. CHANALES
Principal
Rabbi Elimelech Chanales is a talmid of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim and holds a Master’s in Education from Adelphi University. He spent fourteen years in a classroom setting as an educator and has been involved in yeshiva administration for almost 25 years.
Rabbi Chanales believes in ongoing professional development and introducing innovative ways to bring learning into the heart of every student. As such, he is an active member of the Yesud Ma'aleh Fellowship for Educational Leadership as well as the National Council of Yeshiva Principals of Torah U'Mesorah. In his 11 years as Menahel of Yeshiva Derech HaTorah he has devoted himself to helping teachers and students appreciate and realize their potential and developed strong relationships with both students and staff alike.
Rabbi Chanales believes that all children can learn. And although each learns in a different way and at a different rate, with hard work and perseverance every child can be successful. Keeping the atmosphere positive and the lines of communication open among staff, students and parents are the keys to his success. Rabbi Chanales' personal attention to every student's needs and his cheerful smile have helped orchestrate an environment where the music of education thrives through harmony of secular academic achievement and limudei kodesh from preschool through graduation and beyond.
Rabbi Chanales currently lives in Queens with his wife Chani and is a proud father and grandfather.

RABBI DOV MILSTEIN
High School Menahel
Rabbi Milstein has been a dedicated and beloved high school rebbi for over 20 years and has been our very own star 9th grade rebbi since 2013. His enthusiasm for teaching is equaled by his love for his students and his driven personality has helped shape the lives of all those who have learned under his tutelage. He has successfully raised the bar of education in our High School as the freshman Rebbi, and now he has assumed the position of Principal to guide and engage the high school students on a whole new level. With originality and freshness, he is revamping the Limudei Kodesh education with a robust curriculum in Yahadut, Jewish History, Ivrit, Jewish Philosophy and Halacha while upgrading the Gemara program with the goal for the boys to complete the entire tractate they learn each year! He is also introducing the new Bet Midrash prep program for our seniors to experience and train for the advanced level of learning they may anticipate in Israel.
Rabbi Milstein has been a student of Mirrer Yeshivah all his life - and still learns there each day where he enjoyed an especially close relationship with the venerated Rav Shmuel Berenbaum z"l. The indelible impression of love for Torah and constant growth in human character that he absorbed from his illustrious Rebbi is transmitted to all those around him.
Rabbi Milstein shows his students that great levels of educational achievement are accessible and attainable by all, within the pleasant framework of real relationships and positive energy. He lives, and breathes day and night with his students in mind and he is in constant contact with them and their parents at all times. Students and faculty alike become part of his extended family as he sees the positive in every person and makes them feel at home. He believes in his students and they reciprocate with success.
Rabbi Milstein leads a remarkable congregation in his community shul called Kollel Hashechunah where he lectures for adults and supercharges the children with his vibrant signature in his endearing involvement in all shul programs. He and his wife Shoshana along with their children lead a life and home dedicated to their community and always open for others to become part of their exciting family.
